John North

After twelve years in the Royal Navy, John worked for the Sculptor Brian Wilshire, where he learnt about machine working techniques for wood. Progressing over time from wooden toys and desktop models to contemporary furniture and sculpture. He experimented with form and always maintained a fine finish on work which exploited the incredible grain and figuring in the material.

He occasionally works collaboratively on sculpture with his wife, combining wood fused glass. They have exhibited together in Kent and Sussex.
