Branka Vrhovski-Stanton

Branka was born in Zagreb, Croatia and has been living and working in the UK since 1986.

She studied Comparative Literature and Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy, Zagreb and completed a Post-graduate Diploma in Ceramics at Goldsmith College, London. She also attended various adult education classes on pottery and painting in both countries.

After graduating from Goldsmiths she started her own workshop and also worked as a pottery instructor in adult education and various therapeutic settings in London for many years. Her making was interrupted by lengthy involvement with writing centered on what she has come to regard as the primary function of hand built ceramic containers. Now retired from teaching she has moved to St. Leonards-on-Sea, where she can concentrate on ceramics and painting full time.
